Description
"Dominium maris baltici" - Baltic Sea dominion
Finally, I’m able to show you guys the little project I’ve been working on and off for the past several days.
Sorry, but the "Lithuania triumphs" map is still in the construction phase.
An alternate history scenario in which Denmark basks in the glory of being one of the "great powers" of Europe.
In this timeline, the Danes control the Baltic Sea, much to Sweden and Russia’s dismay. Copenhagen is fiercely competing with Saint Petersburg, London, Paris, and Stockholm for trade.
Norway and Iceland have various shades of autonomy; each have their own capital, their own governments, and their own set of laws. But both had have to adhere Copenhagen's central authority.
Denmark also partook in the scramble for colonies. As of 1900, the kingdom not only possessed Greenland and the Faroe Islands, but also the Danish Gold Coast, Danish West Africa, the Danish West Indies, and Danish India (OTL's Bruma and Ganges Delta).
Of course, the Kingdom of Denmark is not without problems. Ever since the Germans unified, the Duchy of Schleswig has became a rather... 'sensitive' issue, (i.e. Germany wants to annex the duchy and reunite the Germans in Jutland). There are a number of groups in Norway pushing for total independence. Sweden is always a looming threat, especially since the land cessions haven't really been lived down. Finally, the Danes are unsure of the increasing disturbance in the Balkans, and the military rivalries among the "great powers".

Looking at the colour-scheme of the map, is the Duchy of Finland part of the Russian Empire?
